Binweevils Weekend Puzzle Challenge Answers (Gam’s Birthday May 6th, 2012)

The perfect time to test your ability this weekend by solving BinWeevils weekend puzzle challenge. You may already guess that this time it will have any relation with Gum’s birthday preparation. You are asked to help Clott and Tink to count the balloon for Gam’s birthday.

You have to count the balloons that was ready for Gam’s birthday after thirty minutes. Here are the detail:

Tink and Clott have 30 minutes to get some balloons ready for Gam’s birthday party. Clott can blow up and tie 1 balloon per minute. Tink is little bit faster, finishing 2 balloons per minute. The friends get to work and they start blowing up as many ballons as they can, as fast as they can.

After ten minutes have passed, lab arrives to demonstrate his new balloon-inflating machine. Lab joins in with his superb contraption, which can inflate an amazing 10 baloons per minute.

Meanwhile, Tink and Clott also continue to blow up ballons. Lab stays to help Tink and Clott for 16 minutes. After that, he has to dash off, leaving Clott in charge of balloon-inflating machine for the remaining time.

Tink continues to blow up balloons the old-fashioned way, while Clott fires up  the balloon-inflating machine. Unfortunately,Clott’s not quite got the hang of how it works, so ¾ of the balloons that Clott puts through the balloon-inflating machine immediately pop.

Lets begin to calculate it :

First ten minutes only Clott and Tink that was inflating the balloons, so after minute #10 it should be Clott inflated 10 balloons, and Tink inflated 20 balloons. Can be seen on following table.

For next 16 minutes, Lab help them using Balloon inflating machine. So in the end of Minute #26 the balloons has been inflated would be Clott would have 26 balloons, Tink would have 52 balloons, and Lab would have 160 balloons.

And for the last four minutes, Lab can’t help them anymore. But he leave the balloon-inflating machine, and then Clott used it. So he should inflate 4×10 balloons. However, ¾ of those was pop, so within that four minutes Clott only inflated 10 balloons using balloon-inflating machine.

So, after 30 minutes the total of balloons that has been inflated by Clott would be 36 Balloons, Tink would be 60 Balloons,  and Lab would be remain 160 Balloons. Therefore the total of three of them would be 36+60+160, 256 Ballons.

It means the secret code for Binweevils Weekend Puzzle Challenge (Gam’s Birthday May 6th, 2012) would be BIRTHDAY256
